Medi-Medi is a pilot program through the Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS) to combat fraud, abuse, and waste in the Medicare and Medicaid programs. Through Medi-Medi, a Program Safeguard Contractor (PSC) matches Medicare and Medicaid data and uses the matched information to look for trends between the two programs that may identify fraudulent billing practices. The program is currently operating in ten states but is planning an expansion over the next five years into additional states.

The purpose of the project is to evaluate the current Medi-Medi pilot programs and make recommendations to CMS on how to improve and expand the program. In addition, the team will develop an operating manual to guide the work of the programs.
